I am unable to connect my Neurobit device with the just-downloaded Trial Version of BioEra. The IrComm2k v.2.0.0 driver is installed and it shows an active connection when the Neurobit is turned on and within range (the icon shows two vertical bars with red dots in between). The Device Manager shows a Virtual IR COM port on COM4. I tried to connect the Neurobit first through Tools/Install Device. I turned on the Neurobit, selected Neurobit device and COM4, but got "Waiting for Device" and then "Device Neurobit not detected" messages. Second, I opened some nested sources in a sample protocal and tried to edit the Source element as you directed in a positing here. I could set the element to Neurobit, but then the only choices for Port, Baud, etc. were "None".
My computer runs Windows XP with Service Pack 2, and have Java version 1.4.2_12 installed.

Hi,

BioEra Trial was tested with Neurobit Lite. It works on WinXP SP2, so this is likely a matter of proper drivers.

Installation hints:
1. Make sure that your IRDA usb driver is properly installed BEFORE you install ircomm2k. If possible test your IRDA link with other device (e.g. PDA).
2. Make sure that IRCOMM2k is configured to use `Ircomm2k` (and not `Standard infrared` or `Automatic`). You can select this with right click on the ircomm icon in toolbar.
3. Make sure that your IRDA usb driver properties is set for 115200 (or more).
4. Reboot PC after any above change.
5. After the above is installed you should see in Windows "Device Manager" (Control Panel->System->DeviceManager) something like on that picture (both "Infrared devices" and "Virtual IR comm port" must exist): http://www.proatech.com/downloads/neurobit/irda_configuration.gif
6. You can also try example design: http://www.proatech.com/downloads/neurobit/neurobit.bpd
Just copy it to `design` folder, load into BioEra, then select your COM port in SerialPort element (mouse right click and select Properties).
7. Make sure that Neurobit device is powered ON (but not started) before you start BioEra design.

Hope this helps.
Jarek
