|
Hi Jarek an group,
I am streaming data from Neurobit Optima 4 + (USB). I am using 1 channel bipolar montage. After 7 to 10 min
of recording the data stream just freezes. It seems, that the device is still connected with Bio Era and the play
Button in Bio Era is still activated. The Neurobit device indicates no signal streaming.
Does anyone has experienced the same problem, and what is wrong? What could be a problem with Bio Era?
I just bought the device new and I wonder whether it is broken.
Thanks Giannis |

I think something like this is the problem (log files from Bio Era, errors.txt):

Those are just warnings, they could not have caused what you described with Optima.
If the device indicates no signal streaming, then the problem may originate in the device. I assume your batteries are fresh (I don't know if this model of Optima gets power from usb)?
Another possibility is that BioEra design stops. If that is the case you should see a message about it on the console and the start/stop button change. So try to open BioEra with console and look for this message.
If you don't see it, then try to contact Neurobit support about it. |

Hey Jarek,
could it be, that the design stops because of buffer overflow? I looked at the console textfiles. Follow Message occured:
"Error: Processing failed in element AVERAGE 0.3(1289127): java.lang.RuntimeException: Too many buffer overflow errors Stopping main design because of failed processing"
It seems, that the element "F_Synchronizer" has a problem (buffer overflow).
Background: I am adopting a design, which is running perfectly with Neurofield Q20, to Neurobit.
However, I changed the design from 2 Channel (Neurofield) to 1 Channel (Neurobit) due to some reason.
Different trendgraphs which are synchronized in the old design, do now not get propper data, because they
are not connected ... is that causing the buffer overflow?

Yes, that can happen. You can change this behavior in Design Settings: unset (clear) this option "Stop when a single processing failed".
The "buffer overflow" warning happens when there is too much data coming to an input. Each input has its own buffer which can hold only limited number of samples. This is configurable in Design settings with: "Input buffer length [s]" option. You can set this number high with most designs, only with large designs (thousands of elements) it should be kept to minimum. Changing that option may however not be enough, some data sources may still send more data than this setting allows. |

Hi Jarek,
thanks. I will try that and adopt my design properly to Neurobit.
Another Question: how do I access console. What do I have to type in to
start Bio Era there?
Thanks! |

If you have used the BioEra installer you should see a link in main menu "BioEra (console)".
If you used other installer, then I am not sure. You may try to look for "start_console.bat" in the main installation folder. Or add "-console" option to the execution of bioera.exe. |
