Topic: Designer screen icons have disappeared

GMartin Joined: Feb 5, 2010 Posts: 308	Posted: Jan 28, 2020 10:34 PM    Post subject: Designer screen icons have disappeared All the icons have disappeared from the designer screen of one of my designs, I have tried the following all with no luck Reload the design, restart BIoEra Pro, expand the size of the designer screen, , move all to visible area, restarted my computer, released the design and opened on a different computer. The design still runs fine but I am unable to finish up the modifications I was working on. Any suggestions would be appreciated Thanks George

I expanded the designer screen greatly and when I chose move all elements to the viewable area one element appeared. I used select all the moved that one element up to the top of the screen and could then see multiple connection lines and two more elements. No matter how much I enlarged the designer screen I could not get the other elements into view. What is the limit for expanding the designer screen? I there another way to try bring the elements into view? I used a backup to recreate the design ind question but TODAY all the elements were off screen again. I am using 4,085. Although the designs are working adding to them or modifying them is quite impossible. Any suggestions? Thanks George

There is no limit to the designer size (which must be configured in system settings), but the larger it is, the more memory BioEra uses. Better to use nested designs and make the primary design smaller. Using the option above will move all elements to the designer area set in system settings (the actual visible part can be smaller, so elements might not always be visible when that is the case).

I scrolled through the whole scureen top to bottom and left to right and saw nothing.
jarek Joined: Oct 22, 2007 Posts: 1073	Posted: Mar 4, 2020 2:17 AM    Post subject: I can't explain what happens, it might have something to do with your disappearing icons, maybe they are not out of the designer window but somehow not showing up. It could have something to do with graphics card driver. When I try this option ("move to visible area"), it is fine here. Maybe check if it works for you on a smaller design, after you move an element icon out of range (all to the right). 6500 size is quite large. I usually try to limit the size to what is fully visible on the primary monitor. I am wondering if that is somehow the cause. Maybe you could try (temporarily) to change the size in system settings to somehing small like 1000, restart BioEra and see if all elements can be moved and be visible then. Just an idea. Also, watch the console for warnings or errors. If BioEra detects a problem, this is where it reports it.
