A long while ago I used Media Player Classic for all video files. I took a look at it it again today and discovered there are keyboard shortcuts for play/pause, zoom, and brightness. This would allow playback of DVDs controlled by BioEra.

Media Player classic is no longer being updated but it is still available online and works fine for me. This may be a way to get playback of DVDs back in BIoEra.

If you think all needed functions can be accessed/controlled with keystrokes, then it might be possible to integrate it using ApplicationPlayer. But this is a big question, keystrokes are often not easy to use automatically.

Direct integration when the program (player) can be used like a chart (e.g. like WMVideoPlayer) requires SDK or a really complete interface (like ActiveX). I tried it before (e.g. with VLC) but something was always missing in that interface.

All functions are keyboard controllable. I revised some designs a few years back and had it doingplay/pause with VLC media player. I will experiments and report how it goes.
