Well it depends if you know what it means that the signal is not good enough. For example it is possible to check the amplitude of the 50/60Hz hum from the mains and show a warning if it is too high.

| Some devices such as Neurobit and J&J, have a built in impedance check. How you access that is device dependent. Artifact is also quite easy to spot in an FFT spectrum because it often shows in all frequency bands. |

You can also display the raw wave forms in a polygraph to inspect for artifact and 60hz noise
