XML files in the design and config directories may get overwritten by the string \"[Configuration: null]\" when the GPL version of BioEra is run under Java J2SE 5 (JRE 1.5). This has been reported in three threads here on the Forum:

http://www.bioera.net/support/viewtopic.jsp?id=104

http://www.bioera.net/support/viewtopic.jsp?id=8

http://www.bioera.net/support/viewtopic.jsp?id=5

The issue may occur when running BioEra GPL from the binary version in bioera-install-1.0.9.zip, or when building from the source files in bioera-src-1.0.9.zip.

I've confirmed the issue using Eclipse 3.5 on Mac OS X 10.4.11 Tiger, traced it and created a patch which allows the XML files to be written correctly. The patch is available as an attachment to a bug report on SourceForge.net:

http://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&aid=2892315&group_id=108566&atid=650779

Currently the patch requires building BioEra GPL from the source code.
