|
I am having problems connecting to Bioera with my Brainmaster 2E. Running the diagnostic design, the ossiloscope and the sample rate don`t show any data except when I turn the Brainmaster on and off. Right after I switch the Brainmaster on while Bioera is playing, its shows data for about a second and stops. The Dos screen also shows several \"Brainmaster synchronization failed...\" lines right after turning the unit on. When I use the device installation tool, it says it succesfuly installed the device only if I turn off and then on the Brainmaster during the countdown.
Is there anything I can do to correct this or anymore information I can give you to fix this problem? I very much like your program and feel it is superior to Bioexplorer in many ways. I would definely consider buying the professional edition if I could get it connected with my Brainmaster.
Thanks, Richard Connell |

Richard,
I think that you might want to change the settings of the Serial Port. I saw in the brainmaster site, that may be sometimes 9600 (depends on a model), and the default port setting is BioEra is 19200.
In the DeviceSet element, go to `Serial Port` tab, change baud from 19200 to 9600, then go to Device tab, make sure that the field `Initialize device` is NOT selected, then go to General tab, select `Save global` and click `OK`.
Let me know if that helped.

Jarek, No that didn`t work. I tried quite a few permutations of the various options in the source element with no success. I found that if I set the source to archive file and then link it with the serial port element I get data different from just from the archive file alone. Also the data turns on and off when I turn the Brainmaster on and off. If I then link the Brainmaster element with the serial port and \"archive file\" source elements, I only get data if I have the Brainmaster element set to 1 channel. I couldn`t tell if the data displayed on the occiliscope from this design corresponded at all to data output from the Brainmaster. If it dosn`t however, I don`t understand why the data from the archive source alone differed from when the archive source was linked to the serial port element.
I don`t quite understand how the Brainmaster and serial port elements work. Can the Brainmaster element act as an output alone (that is as a source like the Device Set element)? Also does the serial port element take imput from the serial port or does it only act as an output through the serial port? Finnally, do you have any more suggestions?
Thanks Richard |

Richard,
what is the model of your device, is this anything listed here: http://brainmaster.com/comparison2005.pdf
BioEra at this moment supports the basic driver (which is open), but not the enhanced one. So if you have AT-1W-2.5, then according to this specification it provides only enhanced interface.
But if you say that it works for one channel, then perhaps there is another reason.
SerialPort element works two way - it can receive data from serial port and also send back to it. Anything connected to the input of the SerialPort sends data TO the serial port (to device).
The DeviceSet is a special case, and it can send data back to a device through SerialPort, but in case of brainmaster (without device initialization), it only reads from serial port.
Data sample from brainmaster is 8 bit, so if that is 1 channel, then the output from SerialPort can act as direct data source. With 2 channel mode, there is synchronization involved, so that is more then that.

Hi,
unfortunately at this moment the enhanced version of BrainMaster is still not supported in BioEra. Sorry about that.
