I have put together an auto threshold nested design to save the time and energy of creating each one element by element. The elements that show on the runtime screen are a bar display, 2 toggle buttons and one numeric display per threshold. Once inserted into a design I need to move the groups of objects to their proper place in the runtime window. Is there a way to easily group a number of elements in edit move or to select multiple objects (such as control click) and move them as a group. That way their relative layout position could be retained.

Thanks

I moved everything around manually (three thresholds and one fft display)
after saving the design to do some other work I reopened it and found all the display elements had moved back to their original position, I assume they do this because they were set to that position in the nested design and revert to that position when a design is closed and reopened. Is there a way to move something like a fft display that is part of a nested design and have it maintain its new position or will I need to rethink how I am using nested designs

Thanks

George,

currently nested designs do not have either of the options you ask here. So the chart properties (positions) are not saved and they restore original positions as you noticed. It is a coincidence, but I was looking at exactly that during last week, and I hope to make this possible soon. I will post it here when ready.

The other option (to group charts which are in nested designs), is also on agenda, but probably not that soon (lower priority).

jarek,

Thanks.

Neither is a major issue. I just need to readjust a few things in my nested designs. I will keep all the calculations etc in the nested designs and then just manually add the visual elements.

George,

now (since the subversion 2.0.81) the nested design saves/restores also chart properties (like location) when option \"Load/save local properties\" is selected in the NestedDesign.

Jarek,

Thanks. This is a great help.
As always I am impressed the the manner and speed with which you respond to new ideas

Jarek,

Thanks for the new update with ability to select antd move multiple elements as well as having nested elements move together.
This is a great time saver while I recreate the types of designs I hav e previously used. It will also be a big help for people who may purchase ready made designs as they will be able to more easily reconfigure their screens if the desire.

Jarek,

It must be Friday afternoon as I have chunk of time to work on BioEra, and of course have my usual Friday questions.

I have been having some trouble with having display elements retain their position once they have been moved. As long as I do not change the names of the objects from their default all works fine. If I change the name then they revert to their original position. This happens whether I change the names before after moving the elements. When the elements revert to the original position the name reverts to the default again. For example a bar display renamed to SMR will revert to bar.

Once this problem happens no display object will retain a new position in that design, whether or not the name has been changed. I have to create a new design for the move to work again.

George,

this is very fresh new feature so I am not very surprised it is not perfect yet, but the main problem is somehow I can't reproduce it here no matter how I rename and what I rename.

Could you please send a design+nested and a simple description what to do to make it happen? (I assume you noticed that on 2.0.82).

Thank you

jarek,

I will email the nested design I use

I will also insert it into a design so you can see if the problem can be replicated.
